2010 Landmark Christian Leadership Academy

On the 15th of this month, Landmark Christian School, in conjunction with Chick-Fil-A, will kick off their “2010 Leadership Academy”. The Leadership Academy is a “seven month program designed to teach high school students the “how” of leadership through the SERVE leadership model developed by Mark Miller, Vice-President of Training and Development at Chick-Fil-A. Tim Elmore, President and Founder of Growing Leaders and author of the bestseller Habitudes, a component of the Leadership Academy curriculum, will present the keynote address”.

Their goal is to teach young leaders how to communicate vision, solve problems, engage and develop people, resolve conflict and more.  Landmark is teaching young men and women how to lead.  It is their hope that these leadership practices will give these young leaders a significant head start as they prepare for college.

Given the fact that Landmark’s Leadership Academy is different from many other leadership academies, there are hopes that it will become a model for other schools to follow. Headmaster Matt Skinner says, “It is our vision to create a nationally recognized model for developing a leadership culture within a Christian school”.  “I believe the intentional development of Christ-centered leaders will serve to leverage our efforts to impact the world for Jesus Christ.”
