The 2011 Miss Georgia Latina & Miss Teen Georgia Latina Beauty Pageant comes to the Americas Mart
The 2011 crowing of Miss Georgia Latina and Miss Teen Georgia Latina will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Americas Mart, Building 3 in downtown Atlanta beginning at 5:00 PM.Tickets to the event are $25.00 and can be purchased online prior to the event or $35.00 the day of the event.


Miss Teen Georgia Latina and Miss Georgia Latina will recognize young girls from the ages of 14 - 16 and young ladies ages 18 - 27 who embody beauty, style and personal development allowing the opportunity to compete in a pageant that welcomes their Latin, Caribbean and Iberian heritage.

Located just minutes from Augusta National, the Mercedes-Benz of Augusta showroom will be the host of THE 19TH HOLE MAGAZINE’S first Masters inspired cocktail reception and fashion show for golfers, Mercedes-Benz car enthusiasts and visitors attending the 75th Masters. The reception tee’s off on Friday, April 8, 2011, from 6:00 P.M.

This Saturday, April 2nd, come and enjoy Art in The Park on the Square in McDonough.  Artist from all venues will be there. It is a fun day from 12n - 5p with free admission.  Try your hand at learning to paint or just enjoy the beauty created by others.  Artist Jeff Hunter said, " We encourage learning, we always have a couple of paint brushes and canvas around."  You maybe surprised at what you can do with a little guidance.

Peachtree City residents showcase their talents at the Glenloch Center

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- On April 1, Peachtree City Parks and Recreation will host the Peachtree City's Got Talent Show at the Glenloch Recreation Center at 7:00 p.m.

The show will feature performers aged 5-21. There is no charge to perform, and all talents are welcome. Register at www.ptcrecreation.org. Admission for spectators is $2, with all proceeds going to the PTC Youth Council.

The Glenloch Recration Center is located on Stevens Entry.

WINGS Curriculum congratulates Atlanta Job Corps Child Development Center for earning national accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The center received its congratulatory letter for national accreditation on Friday, March 11, 2011. Creator of WINGS, Momprenuer, Dr. Bisa, as she’s affectionately called, says, “Director DeNita Gail Murdock-Haley and her staff worked diligently to upgrade the quality of their program and succeeded in earning the national ‘mark for quality’ for their center. We at WINGS celebrate with the Atlanta Job Corps staff for earning this world-renowned recognition.”

Convention & Visitors Bureau Board Meeting, March 16th

PEACHTREE CITY -- On Wednesday, March 16th at 5:30 p.m., the Peachtree City Convention & Visitors Bureau will hold their board meeting at the Amphitheater Cast House (behind Public Works on McIntosh Trail). 

The public is welcome. 

Slow for Celebs: Movie filming at The Fred

PEACHTREE CITY – (submitted by Peachtree City Updates) On Tuesday, March 15, Gospel Truth Pictures will be filming a scene from the upcoming movie, Joyful Noise, at The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater (The Fred) on McIntosh Trail.

The PTC Police expect intermittent congestion on Monday, and significant traffic delays on Tuesday between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Up to 2,000 extras will be coming to town for filming on Tuesday with off-site parking (Dogwood Church, Heritage Church, Providence Church, and Peachtree City Christian Church) and shuttle service to and from The Fred. 

Residents participating in the production should also use the off-site parking to keep the roads near The Fred and Huddleston Elementary open. 

All motorists who must travel in the area of The Fred and Huddleston Elementary between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
