PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- Many Christmas and holiday-themed charities focus on children, but Peachtree City is also remembering the elderly in the community.

Volunteers with the Peachtree City Police Department are hosting Be a Santa to a Senior to support members of the Greatest Generation, some of whom experience loneliness during the holiday season.

To donate, visit the police department and remove an ornament from the tree in the lobby. Each ornament features a holiday wish list from a local senior.

Donations can be left in the collection box at the police station. All contributions must be unwrapped; a wrapping party will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville.

Everyone in the community is invited to attend the wrapping party. Free refreshments will be served.
