Piedmont Newnan Hospital to host caregiver workshop

NEWNAN, Ga. – Piedmont Newnan Hospital’s Sixty Plus Services will host a workshop “Caregiving for Loved Ones With Dementia” on Wednesday, Mar. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop will address the types and stages of dementia, community resources, financial and legal concerns, communication techniques and the role of medications in managing challenging behaviors.

“We know that caregivers can easily and quickly find themselves dealing with an enormous amount of stress. The goal of this workshop is to provide them with the right tools and resources to help ease the tremendous pressure they’re under, as well as those very common feelings of grief and isolation,” said Tori Sorrells, coordinator of Sixty Plus Services at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

The fee for the workshop is $25 and includes lunch and educational materials. Space is limited so advance registration is required by calling 1-877-527-3712. Attendees will hear from the following speakers:
