PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- On a typical night in Georgia, approximately 100 girls under age 18 are victims of human trafficking.

Now, you can run to help them receive the support, educational opportunities and therapy they need and deserve.

Wellspring Living, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that aims to rehabilitate and restore women and children who have suffered childhood sexual abuse and exploitation, will host a special 5K to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause.

The Stop Injustice Run will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Bridge Community Center in Peachtree City.

Every year, more than 250 runners participate in this important event. They understand the important statistics -- according to Wellspring Living, the average life expectancy of a girl forced into prostitution is seven years; homicide or HIV/AIDS are the typical causes of death.

Registration for the run is $30. Teams of 12 runners or more are encouraged to register and provide team names by next Friday, Aug. 26.

First and second place runners in each division will win prizes; all participants will receive a T-shirt and official time card.
