Great Georgia Airshow takes to the Peachtree City sky

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- Buckle up and hold on tight, because the Great Georgia Airshow returns to Metro Atlanta this weekend.

This annual family-friendly event features a stellar line-up of aerial performers, not to mention plenty of entertainment on the ground: World War II-era reenactors, vendors, flight simulators and even a Civil War-inspired cannon firing. It's one of the best places in Georgia to see history come to life.

In light of the recent air race crashes in Nevada and West Virginia, organizers of the Great Georgia Airshow have taken every precaution to ensure the safety of attendees and perfomers alike. The show follows a very strict set of rules and guidelines that virtually eliminate the risk of a crash.

Discounted tickets to the airshow are available through Oct. 7 at Kroger stores. Regular admission is $20 for adults (ages 13 and up) and $10 for children; kids ages five and under, and active military in uniform will get in free.
