TYRONE, Ga. -- The second annual Patriot Run will be held at Sandy Creek High School this weekend.

Runners have the option of participating in a 5K, 10K or 1-mile race. Registered 5K and 10K participants will receive long-sleeve T-shirts, while medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each age group.

The race will be Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8:30 a.m. Race day registration opens at 7 a.m.

Fees are $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K; the mile run is free. Proceeds will benefit Homeless World Aid, which helps feed and shelter homeless families.

Registration open for Father/Daughter Dance

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- There's still time to register for this year's Peachtree City Father/Daughter Dance.

The "red carpet" event will be held Saturday, Feb. 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center.

It is open to fathers and their daughters between the ages of 6 and 12. All couples will be treated to dancing, light refreshments and keepsake photos.

The cost is $45 per couple and $20 for each additional daughter. Fathers and daughters who live outside Fayette County can attend for $65 per couple. Wrist corsages can be purchased for an additional $10.

Chick-fil-A to host Daddy-Daughter Date Night

(WXIA) -- Chick-fil-A will bring back its popular Daddy-Daughter Date Night this weekend.

The fifth annual event will be Saturday, Feb. 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at participating restaurants.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night encourages fathers and their little girls to spend time together. Every "couple" will receive take-home booklets featuring conversation starters and ideas for future outings.

Attendees will also be treated to tableside service, limousine and trolley rides, and other surprises.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night is free, except for the cost of food. Seating is available every hour; fathers and daughters are encouraged to call their local Chick-fil-A locations in advance to reserve a time.

Blood donation opportunities: Fayette County

(WXIA) -- The American Red Cross needs blood donations and has provided healthy metro Atlanta residents with several opportunities to give.

Inclement weather and widespread flu have prevented many usual donors from giving, according to Red Cross spokesperson Kristen Stancil. Several blood drives will be held throughout the area this month to make up the difference.

The Red Cross especially needs blood types O negative, A negative and B negative.

UNION CITY, Ga. -- Christian City will celebrate its 50th anniversary next month.

The south Fulton County facility houses both seniors and children. Its famous Children's Village has cared for more than 1,000 abused, abandoned and neglected children over the years.
