BEST SPOTS: Summer Camps for Kids | Families
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we've compiled a list of the best summer camps for your children, this year.
Peachtree City offers the PTC Summer Adventure Camp for kids aged 5-11 from Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Campers will go swimming three times per week, play games daily, participate in Arts and Crafts and will travel to offsite trips, around Atlanta, twice weekly. This year the Peachtree City Summer Adventure Camp offers Four One Week Sessions in June for Only $125 per week and (2) Two Week Sessions in July. The City of Riverdale is offering a public safety camp for youth in the area. The CORY, the City of Riverdale Youth camp is open to Riverdale Middle School students and youth who live in Riverdale area. Members of the Cory Program will learn about self appreciation, communication skills and money management. The camp will be held at the Riverdale Police Department. The Newton County Recreation Department is holding their Youth Summer Day Camp beginning June 6 ending at the end of July. The camp costs $70 per week and is held Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Campers will go swimming on Monday and Wednesday and will go on field trips on Tuesday and Thursday and Friday campers will participate in themed activities. Tentative field trips include: an animal safari, the Clayton County Beach and Mayfield Dairy in Braselton. For more information call (770) 254-3750.
Fulton County offers camps at five summer camps at area recreation centers and gyms. Burdett Gym, Clifftondale Park, Creel Recreation Center, Sandtown Park and Welcome All Park all offer summer camps and baton lessons.
