McIntosh HS senior named Gatorade Ga. Boys Soccer Player of the Year
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- A McIntosh High School student is the 2013 Gatorade Georgia Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
Senior Salomon Lorenzano beat all the other male high school soccer players in the state for the honor.
The forward led the McIntosh Chiefs to a 21-0 record this season; the team will play Pope High School Wednesday in the Class AAAAA semifinals. Over the course of the season, Lorenzano scored 23 goals and passed for 28 assists.
When he's not on the field, Lorenzano maintains a B average in the classroom, volunteers for fundraisers that support muscular dystrophy and cancer research, and serves as a children's soccer coach. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Georgia State University in the fall.
