PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- The pools at Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center reopened Wednesday after the center suffered smoke and fire damage last week.

The city announced that it has performed enough cleanup and repair work from the two small fires to reopen the pools, lobby and poolside restrooms.

The remainder of the fieldhouse, including the gym and meeting rooms, is still closed.

The fires were set last Thursday and were discovered by Kedron Fieldhouse employees who opened the Aquatic Center early for a swim meet. Nineteen-year-old Robert Striggles was arrested and charged with burglary and arson in connection with the fires.
