Golf cart decals: Rules for riding on Peachtree City's trails

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- The city of Peachtree City would like to remind all Fayette County residents that their golf carts must have Peachtree City decals before they are allowed on the network of paths.

Current decals are a reflective silver-white. They are valid through 2016.

The rules for driving carts on the trails vary for different parts of the county.

Peachtree City residents
Anyone who lives within city limits and pays Peachtree City property taxes simply needs to feature the decal on their golf carts.

Note: Some areas along Sumner Road, Redwine Road and Highway 74 south of Redwine are not within Peachtree City corporate limits.

Tyrone residents
Those who live within the city limits of Tyrone can use their Tyrone decals to ride on the trails in Tyrone, Peachtree City, Fayetteville and unincorporated Fayette County.

Fayetteville residents
Fayetteville residents who live within the city's corporate limits can use their Fayetteville decals to ride in Fayetteville, Tyrone and unincorporated Fayette County. A separate Peachtree City decal is needed to use Peachtree City's trails.

Brooks/Coweta/unincorporated Fayette residents
All other Fayette and Coweta residents must buy the Peachtree City decal to ride on Peachtree City trails, and the Fayette County decal to ride in Tyrone, Fayetteville and unincorporated Fayette County.

Brooks, Coweta County, Fayetteville and unincorporated Fayette County residents must also pay an "outside city limits" path user fee to ride in Peachtree City. The fee helps Peachtree City maintain its 90-mile network of paths. The $60 fee is assessed annually.
