FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. -- Georgia students performed very well on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests during the final school year they were administered.

The CRCT will go away in fall 2014 and will be replaced by Georgia Milestones, a new testing system aligned with Common Core standards.

Here's how Fayette County's students fared on the 2013-14 CRCT:

Third Grade

* Reading: 1,290 students tested
* 98.7 percent met or exceeded standards

* English Language Arts: 1,294 students tested
* 96.4 percent met or exceed standards

* Math: 1,300 students tested
* 91.9 percent met or exceeded standards

* Science: 1,312 students tested
* 88.9 percent met or exceeded standards

* Social Studies: 1,307 students tested
* 94 percent met or exceeded standards

Fourth Grade

* Reading: 1,366 students tested
* 97.7 percent met or exceeded standards

* English Language Arts: 1,359 students tested
* 95.7 percent met or exceeded standards

* Math: 1,347 students tested
