Pike Nurseries' End of the Year Red Tag Sale will begin the day after Christmas, with merchandise prices slashed as much as 70 percent.

Items for sale will include Christmas lights, ornaments, ribbons, tree stands and more. Other non-holiday items will be on sale too, like pottery, furniture and select plants.

RaceTrac hiring for Free Coffee Week

ATLANTA -- RaceTrac is hiring more than 100 temporary employees for the holidays.

The Cobb County-based chain of gas stations will hire two extra people at 66 Georgia locations to help promote Free Coffee Week.

Employees will hold signs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Dec. 17-21. Sign holders must be at least 18 years old and clean cut.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- The Kiwanis Club of McIntosh Trail will give away a 1968 Mustang GT Convertible at this year's Children's Chair-ity Event for Christian City.

Tickets to win the Mustang are $100 and come with entry to the Chair-ity. Buy your ticket at christiancity.org. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold.

The Children's Chair-ity Event begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Dolce in Peachtree City. Entry without a ticket for the Mustang drawing is $20. The drawing for the antique car will be held during the event.

Christian City has provided a safe and loving home for more than 1,000 abused, abandoned and neglected children.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- An upscale men's grooming center will open up shop in Peachtree City next week.

Rooster's MGC will host a ribbon cutting and open house at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The public is invited to attend for refreshments, prize drawings and a chance to ask questions about this unique venture.

The grooming center will offer personalized services for men and boys, including precision haircuts, shaves with hot steam towels, deep cleansing facial massages and Aveda products.

Owner J. Polk is excited to bring Rooster's MGC to Peachtree City.

"My wife Michelle and I are both very fond of this beautiful community," Polk said in a statement. "She will retire soon and our son is graduating from college, so this is an ideal opportunity for us to invest in the future."

Police department toy drive begins Monday

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- The Peachtree City Police Department will begin its Light up the Night toy drive on Monday, Nov. 26.

Police officers will be collecting toys outside the Peachtree City Walmart from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

New, unwrapped toys for children ages 2-17 will be accepted. The police officers will also take cash donations for needy families in the area.

Donations can also be dropped off at the Peachtree City Police Department on Highway 74 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- The Peachtree City Convention & Visitors Bureau is selling a Christmas ornament modeled around one of the city's most recognizable symbols: the golf cart.

The 2012 Peachtree City ornament can be purchased at the Peachtree Center Visitor Center for $15.

"This charming ornament is specifically crafted to showcase Peachtree City's unique charisma and is a great collector's item with the inscribed 2012 date," the visitor center said in a statement.

The 2011 Peachtree City ornament is also available upon request.

The Peachtree City Visitor Center is located at 201 McIntosh Trail.

The Avenue Peachtree City raises $10,000 for students

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- The Avenue Peachtree City is doing its part to help students in the community.

The shopping center and one of its stores, White House | Black Market, have raised both money and school supplies for CARE (Children at Risk in Education).

CARE is a program that provides scholarships and school supplies to Fayette County students in need. It is part of the Fayette County Public School System.

White House | Black Market solicited $5 donations from customers for school supplies. In exchange, shoppers received a discount on their purchases.

"Our customers are so wonderful and supportive. Many of them gave more than $5 just because they wanted to help us purchase as many school supplies for the students as possible," store manager Jacky Vaughan said in a statement.
