ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Silverbacks have signed two new midfielders and a forward to the roster for the 2012 season.

Nico Colaluca, Jordan Davis and David Santamaria will join the team at its training camp on Thursday.

"We're very pleased to bring back Nico and Jordan and add David to our roster for the 2012 seasn," director of soccer Rodrigo Rios said. "All three of them are technically gifted players who know the league well and can add great depth to our team."

Midfielder Colaluca returns to the Silverbacks after playing for the team during the second half of the 2011 season. The 25-year-old Rhode Island native has played for clubs in Colorado, New England and Sweden. He played at the college level while attending the University of Virginia.

Peachtree City native Davis used to captain the Georgia State University men's team and played for the Silverbacks U-23 team from 2006 to 2008. The 29-year-old midfielder was the only member of the Silverbacks to play in all 28 games last season, and scored his first professional goal against Tampa Bay in June.

Santamaria joins the Silverbacks on a season-long loan from the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. The 21-year-old Miami native spent one year playing for Jacksonville University before making his professional debut as a forward with the Carolina RailHawks.

The Silverbacks will play their first preseason game this Saturday, March 3 against the University of Alabama-Birmingham. The 2012 season will begin Saturday, April 7 with a home game against the San Antonio Scorpions.
