DECA students at Whitewater High participated in The Avenue’s “Walk Off for a Cause” Fashion Show which benefitted the United Way. And one of the school’s students actually walked away as the show’s favorite model.

Prior to the event, an online voting contest for the show’s favorite model was held, with that student receiving a $1,000 scholarship. Whitewater High’s Emily Layland beat out 24 other models to clinch the top spot. Her classmates Alex Resnak, Danielle Jordan, Mikayla Stewart and Yanna Dionese Banks were also models.

Walk Off for a Cause is a component of Cousins Properties’ ongoing Partners in Education initiative and supports the company’s involvement with United Way since 2006.

Cousins Properties and its five metro Atlanta Avenue lifestyle centers collaborated with high school marketing students to develop promotional campaigns for this year’s holiday fashion trends and serve as models. The show was “by invitation only” and was held at Terminus in Buckhead on December 9.

United Way of Metro Atlanta was presented with a $2,500 donation from The Avenue and Terminus.
